    Default Re: Proper Earplug Fitting

I've got fairly acute hearing and I like to keep it that way. As such, I use ear muffs over foam plugs for anything requiring protection except, maybe, the vacuum cleaner.

I keep buckets of the foam plugs lying around the house/garage, keep some in the truck, some in the man purse, and a pair in each wool vest.

ETA: the eyesight is failing, but the hearing is still great. Except when my teens low talk/mumble.

I regularly perform earplug tests using the 3M EARfit system. Amazing how many people are not getting even close to the protection the earplug offers due to improper insertion.
