That guy is certainly an idiot. He was Police Chief in D.C. a couple years ago and had his police car stolen from out front of his house.

HR 822 does not apply within your state of residence. It would force applicable states to recognize any state's licensing for non-residents only.

in any State, other than the State of residence of the person

This bill would do nothing for me or anyone else living in my state. Vermont does not issue LTCF's or CCW licenses at all because the state allows anyone to carry openly or concealed. Because my state does not issue licenses, I still could not leave the state and carry.

All you need is a license from ANY state and HR822 will give you the broad carrying right that others would enjoy. It just wouldn't reciprocate that out-of-state license in VT but that's a moot point since you can already carry in VT without any license.

I hope you and all of them first consider the fact that this isn't intervention in states' business but enforcement of a civil right that is being abused by NY, NJ, MD, RI, and CA. HR822 is nothing different than enforcing de-segregation of restaurants and schools, in fact the most accurate way to see it is that it's de-segregating NY, NJ, MD, RI, and CA for us lawful gun owners and LTCF holders.

You seem to have given me the best answers in the past, so I pose this question to you tl_3237...

What will this do for a NJ resident with a Florida permit? Please explain in simple terms so all will understand, including me. Thank you in advance.

It will not help you to carry in NJ. But your FL permit would then be honored in 48 other states....IL still off limits.
