Question Price Check! G17L (update page 3)

So I've been wanting a G34 for _________________ (insert reason here) and have not been able to find one or order one from any of my LGS. When I went to pick up my M&P 15-22 I noted a certain not-so-local store had a G17L in the used case. It was in very good condition, appeared to have aftermarket sights, box, papers, and a 10 round mag (blah). I read up on the differences between the two and am confortable with either for range duty and possible "organized shooting sports" of unknown flavor. The goon behind the counter poo-pooed me feild stripping it for whatever reason and I traded in my last remaining Taurus product towards the 15-22. Exit stage right.

On the way home I couldn't stop thinking about the 17L and regretted not getting it instead of the 15-22. My question is; what do you think would be a fair price for one of these in said condition?? Any experiences you'd like to share?? Money is tight; should I trade in my G23 w/ 9mm conversion barrel and (probably) get screwed in the process? I'm afraid by the time the cash flow allows the purchase, it will be gone.

    Thanks!!!!

    EDITED FOR UPDATE- PAGE 3!!!

17ls aren't exactly common. If the price seems reasonable I'd jump on it.

    How much are they asking?

Yeah, I think that's pretty reasonable. A deal even.

Last time one was on Buds it was $611.

They aren't making them anymore. It should hold its value, pretty well.

Plus that thing probably shoots like a death ray.

I don't think you can shoot production with a 17l, but I may be wrong on that.

Seems like a decent deal - but why settle?

It's a 2.5hr drive for you, but last time I was in American Sport Shooting in Brodheadsville had a G34 and a G35 in stock- this was 4 days ago.

My truck gets negative 5mpg and that may add substantial cost. BUT, do you remember the price? Thanks!
