Default Maybe I missed one, need some recommendations

My wife is looking for a new carry pistol. I originally made the novice husband mistake of buying her a P32 instead of letting her get the gun she wanted. Although in my defense, at the time she didn't know what she wanted. For at least this point in time she doesn't feel comfortable carrying a round in the chamber unless there is an external safety. She also wants something with a short/er trigger pull. I would also like the gun weight to be less then 20oz.

Must have external safety and short/er trigger pull.

    Possibles:
    Taurus pt709
    Sig 238
Kimber Solo 9 (but way too expensive)

    Out:
Bersa Thunder 380 (she shot it, didn't like it)
Ruger LCP & LC9 (long trigger pull like keltec)
    Keltec P3at (no safety)
S&W Bodyguard (long trigger pull like Keltec)
Taurus TCP 738 (I don't think there is a safety)
    Diamondback (no safety)
    Kahr (no safety)
    Glock (no safety)

    Current CCWs Owned:
    keltec PF9
    S&W M&P9c
Recently sold P32 for new gun funds

I think I've done my research pretty well but I'm hoping maybe I missed something. Thanks in advance.

Somewhere in the York area there must be a gun shop/range that RENTS pistols for customers. So find the place and take your wife there and be a nice guy and pay for the rental, range time and ammo and let her decide which she shoots best and is most comfortable with.

Like as not it is probably not even on your list or one that anyone here would recommend. But, she will be sure it fits and functions as she requires.

GET THE SIG P238!!! and never look back

and good luck finding a Solo Carry. we've been waiting on a ton of them since they were introduced (we were one of the few shops that got them as a "Ghost Introduction" before they had the press release.

and the Solo has a very snappy recoil, i did not enjoy shooting it.

It is a pity that your wife didnt like the BERSA because it is the best one you mentioned, and it has a manual safety, a firing pin safety and a built in trigger lock you cant get any safer than that, and it has a real safety not that stupid little safety on the Ruger that lool like an after thought , its the gun that the Walther pp/ppks should have been, and if your wife want to go 9mm BERSA makes a 9mm that is a copy of the Walther P5 but at about a third of the price.

The Sig 238 is a nice gun but bear in mind that it is a single action design with a tiny little safety lever like the Ruger SRc

I own pretty much all the Guns you mentioned as you can see from this PIC so i am not prejudiced against either one but the BERSA is one heck of a Gun to be sure.

Thanks everyone for the replies. It may have just been that particular gun but the Bersa was very unpleasant to shoot, and I have a PF9. I'll have to find another one and give it a try.
Also, can the Sig p238 be carried, hammer down and safety on?

What feels right in her hand?
My girlfriend has been looking for awhile, she has held a lot of the guns on your list and didnt like any of them. The only 2 that felt right were a Colt Defender(which is too heavy and costly) and the S&W J frames(which is probably what she is gonna get but has never shot one so that's where we are now). I don't know if that really helps but its easier to let her decide what feels right. Then worry about safeties, weight, capacity, etc....

    Exactly why S&W makes Ladysmiths.
