    Default magazine base plate

    curved vs flat

Is it personal preference? Aesthetics? Or is there a purpose for the difference?

On smaller firearms the curved baseplate can give the user a extra finger spot

    i.e. glock 26

On my full size semis, the grips are large enough that my hand never really touches the mag base plate.

On my LCP, the finger groove base plate is nice because it give me one extra finger on the grip. This makes the gun much more pleasant to shoot.
