replacing springs
Recently ordered/received a Spring Service Pack for my S&W 3913.
Contains a dozen springs...I didn't know there were that many in the gun!
Is replacing springs pretty user friendly? Any special tools might be needed? Any particular spring that I really shouldn't have to worry about replacing?
Any diagram out there better detailed than than this one?

Re: replacing springs
In most cases, the only spring you need to replace is the recoil spring. If it is the Wolff spring pack, there are three provided; the regular, plus a lower and higher power. Dave_n

Re: replacing springs
I got something similar for both of my Beretta 96's. I replaced what ever springs I could get out of the gun. YouTube is useful for seeing how to replace certain springs. I had to tap out some pins to replace certain springs.

If you get into a bind, or do not feel like messing with it... drop it off at Classic Pistol for John Robinson to do. John is a phenomenal gun smith and he could do that job in short order.

Re: replacing springs
I replaced the recoil spring...since that was the easiest. The new one was about 1/2 inch longer than the original one. That's ok?

Re: replacing springs
Update:
First range trip since replacing recoil spring.
Using Remington UMC green/white box 115gr...same ammo I normally use for range use...every other round failed to eject. 2 mags worth.
On a whim I inserted the carry mag filled with Speer Gold Dot 147gr and all 8 ejected flawlessly.
Did the new spring make the 3 remaining boxes of UMC "useless"?

Re: replacing springs
If the spring is too stiff, then yes. I don't buy UMC ammo if it is free. Use the UMC in one of your guns that is fully broken in and is forgiving. If you don't have another, either save it until this spring loosens up some or give it away and get some WWB FMJ 115 gr. It is hotter and more consistant than UMC.

BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.
