I'm confused. Is that Captured US gun with Nazis proof mark or did German manufactured 1911's during the WWII?

It's a Norwegian m1914. The US sold the patent to Norway after WW1. When Germany occupied Norway in WW2 they were then made for the German army. In 1942 only about 1200 were built. It's a very interesting story. Lots of info on Wikipedia if you look it up. All small parts are serial numbered and that one is all matching with original finish. All Norway changed was the slide stop, as seen in the pic.

i should say contracted, not sold the patent. Colt actually made the first order for Norway before they started their own production.

It is. That's why I regret selling it! The rarest are the ones built in 1945. Only 500 made that year and the only ones with nazi proof marks.
