That was the weird part... I understand that a competition level target gun will cost more $$. My TRP was a chunk of change and I love it... I would NEVER carry as a defensive weapon. The trigger is perfect for target, but defense... it would be downright dangerous.

So, I want a less expensive, less tricked out, looser 1911. I thought the Taurus looked decent. I'll need to find someone that owns one so I can try it out. Hmmmm RocketFoot, how far away from Allentown are ya?

Skullz, I have a Taurus PT-1911 also, same grips as Rocketfoot's, too (they feel as great as they look). When I carry (which is 99% of the time), this is the one. It's never had a problem feeding and it's very accurate. The salesman you dealt with fed you a load of BS and has no clue as to what he was talking about. That, or he makes commission and wanted you to spend more money.

I'll second that! 1911's are hard enough to put down, but with these grips...you need a crowbar to get it out of your hand!
