Default How can I tell how much a S&W M&P 357 has been worn?

I'd like to know what the indicators for wear are on an S&W M&P 357. There is one with night sights at Tanner's that I'm interested in and I want to ask if anyone has pictures of M&P barrel exteriors that have little or lots of rounds through them so I can see the difference in finish wear.

Just trying to get an idea of what to look for when buying used M&Ps.

I believe it may have been mine, traded in,
If it is, it had less than 400 rounds through it.

Did you trade it with an extra .40 barrel and all that it came with new? That's what this one had with it. I'd love to hear that it only had 400 rounds through it.

Correct, the barrel is a genuine S&W .40
had maybe 300 through the 40 barrel, and no more than 400 through the 357 sig.
    What they asking for it?
Traded it in against my Sig P226EE

I hate to be Mr. Obvious, but who cares? Smith and Wesson has a lifetime warranty. Shoot it apart and they will replace it. However, very very few shooters could shoot apart a modern auto pistol from S&W, but it is possible. Most people do not shoot very much...

From the S&W website (emphasis mine):
"We will repair any defect in material or workmanship without charge to the original purchaser for as long as you own the handgun."

That said, I've read more than a few accounts of S&W handling repairs on used guns at no charge. I wouldn't hesitate if the price is right.
