AK bending help
Hey guys,
Pretty new here but long time reader. Great stuff going on here. The only other forum i belong to is pirate4x4 and its a great thing to come here and see people actually helping one another and especially the lack of bickering like pirate. Anyway wondering if anyone has a ak flat bending jig for sale or one i could use and possibly get some pointers from locally. Im in Adams county. Probably only going to build one or two so yes it may have made more sense to buy a pre-bent one but i like doing what i can by myself. Let me know guys. Thanks!

Re: AK bending help
Thanks for the links tony. We have a finger brake at work I was going to use i guess I can just measure the inside dim of the piece of receiver with the kit and that would be just as well. haha pirate is largely a waste of time 70% of the time but there is some amazing work on there. so yeah this place is a breath of fresh air after coming from there. Im a draftsman so it would be nice to see someones and maybe get some prints drawn up i can share with anyone interested. thanks again guys

Re: AK bending help
no doubt man i do what i can wherever i can. i have access to all the tools to bend it i guess my question really should have been does anyone have dimensions for the inside of the receiver once bent? or is that something that is more determined by your trunnion blocks and the receiver bent to fit that more so than a standard dimension?

Re: AK bending help
AHA! many thanks little cloud that jig print was exactly what i was looking for! i thought about the brake press, smallest die we have is 1/16" rad...probably wouldn't matter but I'd like to have this little guy anyway. Thanks again! Once its built if anyone wants to use it let me know. I also have a little shop setup at home with a mill and decent welder if anyone needs help with any projects.

Re: AK bending help
I wish you had posted this a day earlier, I just listed a Jig last night on GunBroker.
Try out Weapons Guild, They are a wealth of info on any Gun Builds.

Re: AK bending help
I have yet to roll my own AK receiver ...
That being said, I'd double check into those bend radii just to make sure.
What kit are you building?
