I've had my SR9 for just a couple weeks now (see the other SR9 thread I created recently) and I love it. I was looking mostly at the SR9 and the M&P. I think the M&P is a bit nicer with the grip and the trigger, but didn't personally want to spend another $75 for it. The slim grip of the SR9 is pretty distinctive if that's what you're looking for.

If I was looking at non-US-made guns, I would have also considered the Taurus 24/7 and the XD. I get the impression that you can't go wrong with any of these newer striker fired pistols; it's mainly a question of personal ergonomics, features and price.

A bit late to the party, but my SR9 is currently my primary carry weapon. Never had any problems with it. I shoot it regularly and am quite fond of it. As Cooper2112 said, the slim grip is unique. I did not think I would like it, but that changed the second I handled it.

My Dad owns one. No complaints. He said the grip was little different at first, but it is a very slim profile. Easier to conceal.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been attacked by a watermelon , I started carring a gun because of those things , just kidding
