    Default Positive LTCF Experience

So, I am only posting this because Viper (aka Mark, aka Junior) said I should. I was home on Monday and had nothing better to do so I headed to the Northampton County Courthouse and finally decided to apply for my LTCF.

First of, everyone was very pleasant from the moment I stepped into the courthouse. I did notice that no one knew what the acronym LTCF stood for, all police officers kept saying "Oh, you mean, a carry permit". Even the women in the licensing office were confused when I mentioned that acronym, one thought I meant a map search.

Anyway, filled out the LTCF and headed down to the Sheriff's office where they were also very pleasant. The Sheriff who completed my paperwork struck up a pleasant conversation with me about my previous place of residence, in Carbon County, where he was a constable after retiring from the Newark PD. We chit-chatted about how he was from the coaldale region of PA and how he prefers city life over country life.

There was never any mention about the paperwork or why I wanted it done. So now the 4-5 week wait begins. All-in-all no problems! And I was in and out in about a 1/2 hour.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Yeah, really. Takes 2 minutes to do a PICS check. EVERY county should be issue on the spot these days.

Congrats on the LTCF (ughh... permit thingy...)!!!

My guess is that you'll have it in 3-4 weeks rather than 4-5.

Who needs a LTCF when your boyfriend is the notorious "guy with a gun in philly"?

Really though, good job. Bout time more women folk got out of the kitchen, and behind a gun.

    Congratulations!

As for the LTCF "acronym," I've never verbally used those letters as an acronym and I've never heard anybody else use them verbally either. It's a very convenient abbreviation in print but doesn't really roll off the tongue and I've never heard it.

We could pronounce it as a word... LIT CIFF.

Or just call it a gun permit

    (ducks for incoming!)
