Default Anyone ever self install night sights on SIG P220

I am looking at installing a new pair of factory night sites on my SIG P220. SIG's website lista a "sight pusher" for a whopping $200+ dollars.

Anyone ever mount these sight "NOT" using one of those over priced pushers? What did you use?

If your question is can it be done with out using a sight pusher yeah sure ,but if you use a hammer and punch it will most likely look like you used a hammer and punch . If you going to put nice sights on it-$80.00 to $140.00 range why would you want to beat them on with a hammer and punch. Check Midway USA I believe that the tool you need for your sig is about $139.00. Option B Duraglo sight paint from duarcoat in green or yellow-does require a white base coat. Option C take it to a gunsmith or refinisher who has the proper sight pusher to get the job done right. If you choose hammer and punch route use a light touch,it's easy to ruin a pair of sights!

If you go the hammer & punch route, you stand a good chance of breaking the tritium vials in the sights. If you can't borrow a sight pusher, have gunsmith do it. Remember to mark the location (laterally on the slide) of the old sights, so you install the new ones in the same position. HTH.

I have a Sig sight pusher.

If you want to meet me at Classic Pistol in Southampton some time, you are more than welcome to use it or have me install them for you free of charge. The front sight can be a little tricky and it's easy to ruin it.

Classic Pistol also has a gunsmith (John Robinson) that can do the install for you.

Send me a PM if you are interested.
