Default Cecil Burch: Street Boxing and Jiu Jitsu for the armed individual

I am very excited to announce Cecil Burch coming to Pittsburgh PA November 5th and 6th!

    Who? Bio from Cecil's Site:
Cecil Burch has been pursuing his passion for Martial Arts since he was 16. After studying Shotokan, Kenpo, and Tae Kwon Do, he moved to Jeet Kune Do and the Filipino Martial Arts under Dan Inosanto and Paul Vunak. Cecil was one of Vunak’s first certified Full Instructors. In 1990, he began extensive study in Savate under Salem Assli. He also spent time learning Muay Thai and has been asked to be an instructor in a number of different Pentjak Silat systems.

In 1994 he began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Megaton Dias. Cecil is currently a black belt under Megaton and has competed extensively, including the 2010 Pan-Ams as the Bronze Medalist (as a black belt), 2010 American Nationals Gold (black belt - heavyweight division) & Silver (absolute), 2009 American National Gold (brown belt – super heavyweight) & Silver medal (brown belt – absolute division), and the 2006 Pan-Am gold medal (purple belt – super-heavyweight).

In 2002, he started training with Rodney King, creator of the Crazy Monkey Defense (CMD) boxing system. Cecil was one of the original select group of people authorized by Rodney to begin teaching CMD in 2005 and was a founding member of PCWA (Performance Coaching World Alliance), the umbrella group of CMD trainers. He is currently one of the four highest-level CMD trainers in the world.

Cecil has been conducting seminars for the past few years and enjoys passing on whatever he can to anyone interested in functional fighting arts

Had some questions from folks and wanted to address them:

You need no prior martial arts experience to attend. We'll have people ranging from brand-new to "not so brand new".

If you need help on gloves to buy if you dont have any - I can provide some links.

I got a message from Cecil noting he'd have one of his other coaches coming along as well, so extra experienced eyes to dial in the drills over the day definitely helps!

This has been canceled. Not enough sign-ups to make it happen. We'll try again after the holidays!
