Remington question/help

My son has a Remington Sportsmaster model 512-x 22 s/l rifle handed down from my father in law. I can drawal the bullet up the tube magazine but I cannot get the bullet to drawal into the barrel. It is there but it will not go into the barrel. I took it apart thinking it needed to be cleaned but it still does not function as it should. Any other suggestions?

Broken( separated) case stuck in the chamber?

It does not seem broken. I would say it is just stuck but it simply won't come up high enough to load in the barrel. I see it in the chamber but the bolt cannot get it to load. It hits the bullet but will not push it into the barrel.

Cartridge carrier may be broke or out of adjustment. Hard to say not seeing the problem.

I don't exactly know what "drawl" means (it must be a technical term) but if you bring it by the shop, I can probably un-F it for you.
If you are in Landsdale- I am a short distance away in Chalfont.
