Some of you noted that I needed "Tacticool" gear to compliment my new pistol. I went down to the local tactical spot where all the "High speed/low drag operators" hang out. I would mention the place by name, but those guys are all hush-hush about their training and identities....... so, out of respect, I'll keep it "G-14 Top Secret"!

First things, first. On a new gun you shold always field strip and clean to make sure everything is in working order. To take apart a Hi-Point, you need to take a steel punch and remove a pin from the frame in order to take the slide off. Talk about tough! No chance your slide is going to fall off in a gunfight! No other gun can compare to this feature. Another mark of quality.

Alas though....I was out of Remoil! I asked the guys at the tac spot what to use and they told me the new theory was to use grease on the firearm. This would allow debri to stick to the grease and never actually come into contact with the firearm. These guys think of everything! I picked up the recommended tub for $22.95.

I feel better now that my gun is protected.

    Lycan,

I just got in an order of Hi-Point "Battle Accessory Packs". Below is a pic of one. Let me know how many you need and I will set them aside for you. I noticed from your pictures you already had the "Duct" Mounting Kit so I didn't order any of that in. Have a good one....................

GROPA.....do they carry those at the local tacticool shops? I only use gear approved by real "operators". I'll inquire the next time I'm down there......

Meanwhile..... I made another stop at the Tac shop and talked to the owner since my past post. I'll refer to him henceforth as "Tiny Richard". Most of his close friends call him "Dick", but we aren't that close and I think he had to change his name after his tour of covert ops anyhow..............

Anyhow, I was talking to TR about how pleased I was with my new firearm addition and how I needed some real cover garments. TR was talking about the newest tacticool vests and how there are some great new innovations. Since everyone and their neighbor is now a "Tactical poser" (TR's words) almost any black vest or photgraphers vest now screams "gun inside". This just won't do in today's urban combat scenarios. Now....who am I to question TR's expertise?

TR showed me some vests in tan that looked vaguely familiar:

Me: "That looks like my trout vest."

TR: "Your trout vest isn't made out of JAF2000 tacticool fibers that bend light and make it blend perfectly with pylons in most low light parking garages".

Me: "But won't this draw attention to me anyhow?"

TR: "If you walked past a guy on the street who smelled like fish, would your first thought be..... 'GUN!'.........?"

Me: "Dizzam TR, your tacticool-fu is strong!

It was $231.09, but I figure good gear is paramount.....

TR also suggested the otional ceramic plate in case I take a hit in the chest. It also helps prevent hook bite when I have to dive behind a Ford Tempo to escape incoming fire. These guys know their shizzit!

They keep getting better. I find myself excited to get home from work and check on your tacticool updates. I am glad you are coming around. As a side note, do you do any musky fishing?
