Re: anybody on a good Holster
Fobus, being made of plastic, is a little too cheap. IMO, you should at least move up to kydex.

This is why we don't use fobus.

Re: anybody on a good Holster
Here you go, this gets discussed ad nauseum
http://www.pafoa.org/forum/pistols-4...lt-advice.html
DDG9 posted a good link if you simply can't afford high end leather at the moment. That being said, some people say they can't afford an $80 holster when the truth is the just don't want to spend the money. This is for a gun you're carrying to defend your life...what's that worth?
My current holster of choice is the #20, manufactured by Fist

plenty of good stuff there, and not all of it is pricey. Feel free to ask questionsLast edited by MarcS; January 15th, 2008 at 02:25 PM.

There is a big difference between "plastic" and kydex.
I would recommend a rig from Raven Concealment Systems. It can be configured for IWB or OWB.

Re: anybody on a good Holster
I've used the Blackhawk Serpa for my G17, but it's too bulky to carry. There are also some stories floating around about ADs when drawing from the Serpa. I've NEVER been able to make it happen, but, who knows?
All that said, leather is your friend. I carry my XD9 in a JIT slide from Don Hume - ~$45 and it fits the G17 too. But, since the G17 is larger, it's not as comfortable. I have a Galco Concealable Belt Holster for the G17 and it's perfect - ~$98 or so.

Re: anybody on a good Holster
Check out the Comp-Tac C-T.A.C. I use one with my M&P9 and I love it. I guess you could call it a hybrid because it's made of both kydex and leather (kydex holster with the belt clips mounted on flexible leather "fins").
