Thank you, this has to be the most unique piece I currently own, not particularly valuable or rare but the paperwork has to make it an oddity for sure.

This is one case where I believe the story makes the gun.

This one has been refinished that's why I'd normally overlook it.

But in addition to the paperwork it is built on one of the leftover WWI Springfield Armory inspected frames that never got built into a 1917.

That is a cool addition to your collection. I agree the provenance makes that a much more attractive buy. I hope to come across something with that type of story attached some day.
