The giant black thing is a cold steel sjambok, which I basically ordered to get free shipping. I though it was going to be a walking stick designed to smack stuff with, turns out its more of a whip, a bit too flexible to walk with.

IIRC a real sjambok was made from the hide of a Rhino. They are supposed to be a very nasty weapon.

The crystal is fairly flush it does sit about a 1/32" or so proud of the bezel though. Its the 1st nice watch I've ever gotten for myself, I've worn the "military style" cheap watches that you can buy from sportsman's guide since I was in high school. After having to replace them every 4-6months I decided to risk spending the extra $. I've only worn it for a day but I'm quite happy with it.

Not sure what size the crystal is on your watch, but they make protectors that keep the surface from getting marred. Kinda like the screen protectors for your phone. Wish I knew about them when I bought mine years ago.

Not sure how well they will work, but def would advise at least trying them. Citizen's are usually sapphire for the glass

I tried rocking a citizen for awhile, and it survived a year or so before I cracked the glass. Currently leave the citizens for dressing up days and rock a cheapo Gshock cause its a tank that I have yet to break.

It's definitely not sapphire in their <$200 watches. They refer to it as a "mineral crystal". I asked a jeweler that specialized in watch repair about changing the crystal on my Citizen to sapphire and he told me it would cost at least two to three times what I paid for the watch. I figure I'll keep the scratches until I break the crystal altogether.

The citizen I cracked the glass on survived quite some time, and what finally killed it off was the crack let water in. Took awhile, but she finally gave up being a fishbowl and time piece.

Its around 1/2" thick on the end, that would be more like 50 shades of assault charge.
