Picked up a winchester sxp compact trap model at Cabela's last night. I didn't have a decent pump gun, and I liked the features the sxp offered. They didn't have any standard versions in stock, but they had one of these. I saw the compact sticker on it, and I'll be damned if I could find anything compact about it. Being a bigger guy, it still fit really well. Having the raised comb will help if I can ever find a rifled barrel for it. Used my Christmas gift cards, so the price was right. I could have gotten an 870 cheaper, but it felt cheaper.

As I have confessed before, I am an unrepentant .32ACP slut. This time I really went slumming and bought a used Kel-Tec P-32. But this gun is actually pretty impressive. It is the only locked-breech .32 I’ve ever seen. Recoil is practically non-existent so the just-two-fingers grip works well with good control. Tiny thing, it hides easily and with eight rounds of the current ammo I’m using (see below) AND the pocket holster it weighs just 11 oz.

Today, many consider .32 ACP a borderline caliber for self-defense. That hasn’t stopped me from carrying it in the past because I loaded it with Buffalo Bore hardcast. But now Lehigh Defense has developed a new bullet that maximizes the effectiveness of .32. There’s a YouTube video on it, very impressive.
