Are you saying having an entire safe of AR’s is a problem
Two of the same gun, insanity - lol.

I wanted to explore thermal and learn what it does and doesn’t work well for, how good is entry level etc. I’m suitably impressed with the FLIR TK Scout for the price point. I can identify deer/bear out to about 100 yards. That’s the farthest open area I have. It’s really good closer in and even with thick summer vegetation can scan the back deck and see animals in the woods. It also works in broad daylight. Happy with it and those several thousand dollar scopes have to be amazing.

    Thermal is great stuff.
Like everything else it has its good and bad.
Environments with a lot of heat like cities can obscure thermal signatures and are better suited for night vision scopes.
Environments with a lot of neutral heat coverage like foliage can obscure night vision scopes and are better suited for thermal.
The hybrid scopes are where it's at, with the combined thermal/night vision imagery.
But as you say, the price point is still too high for many people.

Makes sense. Also depends on what you need. Thermal won’t help nighttime land navigation like night vision.

Here are some things I bought a while ago and finally got to try. PSA lower receiver I received with my Ruger LC9s--I added a Geissele rapid fire trigger (also purchased a while ago), SIG ambidextrous mag release, and a Strike Industries enhanced bolt stop (works well with the SIG mag release). Also got to try out my new Peltor Sport's (got these on Prime Day). They work so much better than ear plugs (no ringing ear today).

Here's the little brother to my .308 Win RPR:

    Before:

    AFTER:

    BIG and LITTLE BROTHERS:

I won the .308 RPR at the Spring 2018 FOAC Gun Bash (off the $10 side raffle table). Bought the .22 RPR at the July 2018 OGCA gun show (The Ohio Gun Collectors Association invites different groups to set up displays at their 6 times per year shows/meetings). In July they invite the American Thompson Association (what great machine guns) and the Ruger Owners and Collectors Society (ROCS, I'm a member and display my collection of the Ruger Security, Police Service and Speed Sixes).
