Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
I agreed to buy this last evening. It’s on its way from NC. It is my third example of the four production pistols that were chambered in 9x18 Police (sometimes, wrongly, called Ultra). I already have the Walther PP Super and SIG P230; the fourth, the Benelli B82, is a true rainbow-farting unicorn, and I doubt I’ll ever see one, let alone own one.
This is a Mauser HSc-80, exclusively manufactured under license by Renato Gamba, a maker of high-end Italian shotguns. Mauser’s redesign differs from the original HSc in several ways, including a change to a double-stack magazine. It was offered in 7.65 Browning, 9mm corto, and 9mm Police.
The grips do not appear damaged or excessively worn. Could it be a failure of the finish? Any guesses on the wood they used? It doesn’t look like walnut. Is it poplar?

Liberal panic + Gunshow in York = wheeling and dealing time. Took one of my $ 269 slide fire's and bartered for this bundle
Will need a set of correct grips for the S&W 32 long, a 1903 I believe. The Nickle H&R was sweet and real not synthetic grips. Nice two tone mag for my WWI 1911 and always wanted a Bond Arms - this one's a 357 mag. The show was packed! I got there around 9:40 and got right in, crowds already and grew steadily. When I left at 12:30 there was a small line at door to get in. Several deals I wanted so bad but passed. COP 357 magnum, mint including original COP holster for $800 - I already have one but that's a great price. A nice Argentine Colt 1911 with matching mag for $675. Just had to have some will power

Bought this Type 99 at what I thought was a good price. I didn't realize the missing parts could cost as much as a complete, mismatched rifle. It's a Toyo Juki Kogyo 37 Series. Missing bolt, magazine follower/spring, and front band screw. Mum still intact (but worn due to rust). Duffle cut and rusty, but able to be cleaned up.

There is one for sale with a bad bore and cut bolt either here or armslist for, I believe, $150. I don't know what they go for in decent condition, the one listed has an intact mum as well.
Some people just plain suck.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Just bought one of these from Bud's. Photo was pulled from the net--this isn't mine. I should have it by the end of the week. I had been waiting on a new credit card to arrive ($150 credit on $1,000 in purchases and 0% for 15 months). Want to eventually get a Scorpion Evo and the Bren pistol as well.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
It is a nice looking rifle. I wanted something different than the typical AR offerings. The SBR version of this is really nice. I don't want to wait to get permission to use a stock on a pistol though--I want to shoot this. I want to SBR a Scorpion Evo. $200 for permission is a little hard to stomach for me. $400 for two is really hard to stomach. I may buy a pistol down the road and pay the extortion fee. Just seems like such a PITA to do so.
