Yep. A buddy of mine is pretty good with different techniques and those scotchbrite pads. I think some guys just have an artistic touch or knack.
I used to not have the patience to paint. I would try to get it to cover and look good all at once. In my old age I've mellowed, I'm more patient and have a better understanding of how paint "works"..
Granted I wouldn't do this on something fairly new or try to touch up on a late model car. I prefer the late 80s thru 90's trucks. The paint is usually pretty bad on them and Black is hard to screw up. My 88 has the rat rod or flat satin black that's become popular with the fast and furious crowd. I started this one doing the hood with what the can says is camo but looks like a dark khaki or fde to me. Its coming out nice. Even coat with no spray lined or runs. This is truly flat where my 88 in Black has a slight sheen to it.

2,000 rounds of Wolf Gold for $500 cash. Haven't tried this stuff yet but it seems to be well received for plinking and practice. I've got a couple new shooters interested in modern rifles so I'm sure we'll burn through this pretty quickly now that the weather's warming up.
This was a private seller unloading some surplus, but I've noticed a lot of cheaper 5.56 options down around $300/case. Seems prices are finally getting back to pre-panic days.

Thanks, it's always good to get a call when some stuff shows up at a shop, that's how I picked up the Swede.
The Radom was me stopping to look at a FAL a buddy told me the shop had, it was a bust, a Century build.
I have a "rough" Remington P14 coming, all matching, should be here Monday.
A buddy in Arizona came across a matching 1908 Brazilian that should be here next week sometime. It's kinda dirty but for the price the all matching makes up for it.

20170421_180853.jpg Walked into LGS and first CZ P-01 ever seen on display over a period of 3-4 years. Had to have it, just ordered some new LOK grips. Not sure about sights yet. Plus side too, it fits most of my Glock 19 holsters good enough.
