Ididn’t purchase it, but rather it was gifted to me by a close friend. It had been in his family forever, and supposedly his grandmother shot a deer with it while in her 80’s. One of those rifles you cherish just because of where it comes from and the history that comes with it.

Very nice. One of these has been on my list for a long time. It's a very long list with many things above it, however.

From what I'm reading, the Mk. II's had staked front sights with the Mk. III having the dovetailed front sight. I have been mulling about getting the sights replaced and a trigger job to get close to an FBI clone, but that might just be too much money for my wallet.

My FM M90 Detective is at the gunsmith right now getting new sights. The M90 is a Mk I style so he’s cutting a dovetail for the front sight. He’s already taken a HP replacement barrel and cut and threaded it, and I also have him an SFS kit to install. That is the extent of my customizing plans for it.

You will enjoy it, I have three Canik's now including the Combat Elite, all have performed well, guess it's time to get an optic for my Combat Elite. I like all of mine and I am sure I get some down the road.

Your post pushed me over the edge to reserve a canik tp9sfl that the local shop is getting in.
