Grabbed a fun plinker, a Walther PPQ .22LR, at a good price from a PAFOAer to play with. Threaded adapter is on the way. I also bought a second mag but it's a 10-rounder; I defeated the glue used to keep it from being disassembled and I'm going to attack the block with a dremel to reclaim the extra two cartridge spaces. Everybody needs a hobby.

Does the lower still function on a regular upper? If it does could this be a problem? What if the lower has previously reached firearm status?

Yes it does work on a standard upper. As to the "what if" question, I don't think it matters. Mossberg makes a muzzle loader conversion for the model 500 shotgun - which based on the PGC rules is legal.

2015/2016 Hunting Digest, page 32 -- "Any single-barrel muzzleloader long gun with flintlock, percussion or in-line ignition, 44 cal. or larger, or 50 cal. or larger handgun. Scope sights permitted."

Did you fire it yet?

Not yet. I put it together last night and did test it in my garage. I made sure that the caps went bang and I put a very small amount of black powder in the bore to make sure that the ignition flame made it all the way from the nipple to the bore. I was happy to see the little flash and puff of smoke. I hope to get to the range some evening this week with it.
