I was looking for a 308 but this deal was to good to pass up, plus Savage accuracy out of the box is hard to beat.

I'm picking up a Simmons scope and some decent rings, so when it's all said and done I'll be under 300.00 total.

Heck I just spent 300.00 on an AR barrel, so I feel pretty good about saving some money and still have a decent gun that will only go for a couple walks in the woods.

Good find! If it had iron sights, you could even dispense with the expense of the scope. I don't know what kind of terrain you hunt in, but in 56 years of deer hunting in the PA woods, I don't think I've ever shot one farther away than about 50 yards.

Same thing here, most deer I shot have been have been under 75yds, I can recall one shot I made was about 200 in a field.

USPS delivered this morning. Custom kydex holster and double mag pouch for my FNX-45 Tac. I was going to get one to accommodate my TLR-1HL but the rig is heavy as it is.

The thing is like a boat anchor. Here is it on my strong side, it hugs pretty tight. Warning, potato pic.

I picked up a Ruger 22/45 and found a used set of VZ grips, both on the forum, spent $8 on 1911 bushings and screws at Brownells, and spent four hours at my work bench with a rasp and a file, and taadaa!!




She shoots like a dream!

Gambled on a "grade B" SKS from Classic firearms. Spent a few hours cleaning her up, I used the hot water method and the cosmoline dripped right off (save the cosmoline turd in the bore )

I worked the stock quickly with some Mineral spirits and have been using some Gibson Guitar fretboard reconditioner for the past few days, it's coming around.

She's a 1956 "letter" gun ( some call it a Sino Soviet, but I'm not sure as the letter is not cryllic). Has a bit of minor rust here and there, but a decent stock, some bluing left etc and all the numbers match everywhere. Bore is perfect, mirror bright.


Got her out to the range and much to my surprise and delight she's a shooter, dead on out of the box. Trigger is halfway decent taboot. I'm in love, my ARs are going to be ignored for quite awhile.

How do you like that S&W Tactical, I see them from DOC trade ins and have been real tempted for the price.
