I decided to head up to Dixon's on saturday to pick up a 1851 Navy clone or a musket of some sort. I made the poor decision to run over to the Cabelas in Hamburg first since it was only a few minutes away. After nearly losing my mind from the crowds, traffic, and the sight of empty cases and ammo shelves; I found this beauty. A Uberti "Wild Bill" 1851 Richards-Mason Conversion from their "Outlaws and Lawmen" special edition line. Wound up getting the last one they had too.

it’s been a long Wait, but my FM Detective is finally back from the gunsmith. Added Dawson FO sights (required dovetails), bobbed and threaded a HP barrel, installed the SFS system, and added new wood furniture.

Gotta dig my Redhawk out and mount them up , but these rosewood grips from Jaruwan in Thailand are beautiful. 4th set of grips from him and I've been impressed with the wood , craftsmanship , fit , finish and SPEED of delivery. This is the Ebay pic , but the details of the grain says these are the ones I got.

I'll take a pic on my gun when I can.

They have some gorgeous hardwoods in that part of the world and those people have nothing better to do than spend a week carving those out. I have seen other grips come out of there too...like for a P7, best handgun ever built.

Got tired of trying to find a reasonably priced PSL and decided to remodel the bathroom with the money.

I've been buying from and conversing with Juruwan for many years. Quality grips for sure. Every now and then he's hit by a typhoon or monsoon and goes dark for a while, but always communicates and always great grips! Those look great - enjoy!

From the looks of them , these are not hand-carved with a knife made from an old file by some hut-dweller. And they are definitely machine-inletted.

Just be gentle when selecting ammo for them, the open frame cartridge conversions aren't that strong and it doesn't take much to wear them out.

I went to the local gun store and they were closed.
Sportsmans Warehouse was across the street so I went looking for powder.

I did find that box of Berger VLD 190 gr hunting bullets so bought those.

Then, Shit. I bought the stainless Tikka T3x Lite too AND ordered a Mountain Tactical scope rail.
