Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
It's a recent purchase, a TC R22 10/22 clone:
The stock looks gawky but "fits" and handles very well, and the TCR22 is noticeably lighter than a wood-stocked 10/22, and about on par with a poly stocked 10/22. If this TCR22 performs well, I'm buying another and will be selling off the two black poly stocked Ruger 10/22s I now have.
I especially like the TCR22's aperture sight at the rear of the receiver because the standard Ruger folding rear sights out on the 10/22 barrel are becoming more invisible to me, and that's why they will be on the chopping block. Well, that and they have the fucking obligatory Ruger carbine barrel bands that are not only fugly but can negatively affect accuracy. The TCR22's barrel in my example is essentially free floated.

Picked up a Ruger SR22 last night at my LGS. That's a pretty fun little pistol although I only had the time to run two magazines of ammo through it.
Won't get a chance to shoot it again until Sunday between all the rain and work.
But Sunday afternoon = Barbeque and rimfire!!!Sed ego sum homo indomitus
