Well, either both batteries that came with it are dead, or the red/green illumination is broken. Going to pick up a new battery and verify.

Unfortunately that’s not uncommon with super budget optics. I’ve gone through it recently with a highly recommended red dot for my sons 22lr AR pistol. 1st one had a out of spec mount, the 2nd only worked on 3 out of 11 settings, the third was and has been good since December. Luckily Amazon is a pleasure to deal with when it comes to returns.

Yep, new battery didn't help. Amazon is shipping the replacement and they have given me 30 days to send this one back. And they are paying shipping both ways.

Turn-of-the-century American Arms .32 S&W top break ‘pocket revolver’ (3-1/4” barrel). Excellent deal, couldn’t resist. In my defense, it is a .32, and I do like my .32s. And I’m developing an interest in top breaks.

Well, this is annoying. I tried to remove the ejector to use the headspace gage. Not only would the roll pin holding it in place not budge, it deformed my punch!

You can do a rough check on the headspace by slipping the NO GO gauge over the extractor while it's complete in the rifle then slowly closing the bolt. Once it's touching just push on the forward assist and if the bolt/carrier does not go all the way into battery you are good to go.

Rinse and repeat with the go.

Flip it over and drive it the other way?

I know they aren't tapered pins or holes, but sometimes a pin or hole gets a little taper to it that's upexpected.

Did you push in on the side of the extractor? It should allow the pin to be pushed out by hand.

Yep. I tried from both sides. No movement either way.

Extractor pin (solid, not roll) came out just fine. Didn't need to use any extra force with it. It is the roll pin holding in the ejector pin that I'm having the issue with.

you have to depress the ejector into the bolt head first, then remove the roll pin. a brass case can work in a pinch to do this.
    gotta love her ;)
