Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
This one? I thik it was $60 shipped on Amazon - same price from Walmart. It even comes with a crude/basic/functional mount.

Here's a thread I posted asking about optics.

Post #67 is where I start posting about it.
Not bad. After I use it more, if I still like it, I may save up for a better one in that style.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Ronin is correct. The action is a long stroke piston; the breech block travels back past the magazine, ejects the spent round,
And strips a new round off the magazine. The rifle is fully ambidextrous, even the charging handle can be reversed. As a lefty, that’s a part of what attracted me to it.-gonzo, SoCenPA. "Before all else, be armed." --Niccolo Machiavelli

You know, you go in to simply pick up your recently acquired Glock 22 with PD serial number and your shop says "I've got some inventory I need to move". I feel I must support:
Glock 22 Gen 2 with PD serial # ( MN xxxx PD ):
A beautiful pimptastic Winchester 1300 Marine in stainless:
closest whitney bank
A Lifecard ( don't judge, it was stupid cheap ):
And a Remington 700 in 243. I'm not a hunting rifle guy, but again, if moving inventory cheap, I'm on board

Probably don't want to wear a muscle shirt when shooting it. Not unless you like doing the hot brass boogie!
My old boss who I still work with is a lefty and he says how much he likes his Ithica shotgun with downward ejection. Shells don't fly past his face unlike his Marine days and M-16.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
second upper FINALLY came in for my SBR; this one is a 10.5" .223. Needed an optic, did some looking around, and came to the Sig Romeo 5. I'm pretty sure it's the same basic dot/chinese factory as the Primary Arms silver series push button red dot, but the Sig comes with the AR riser (PA add charges), and "shake and wakes", plus to my door it was $40 less than the PA red dot web price. Haven't gotten it to the range yet, but did my standard mount my spare set of BUIS to the rifle, mount the dot, adjust dot to BUIS, pull BUIS and put back in spare parts box.
MOTAC (shake and wake) works great once you throw the instructions away, and the sight body does a good job of disappearing. thinking I might move it a little further back to fade out more, but I'll make that decision at the range.

Picked up a 1940 'ax' marked Kar98k today. Soviet refurb, but the price was right at $500. Cleaning rod is a crappy repro that doesn't work with a bayonet, but that is easily replaced. Decent bore, no cracks in the stock. Repro sling on it.
