It is a lot of money, but they are painting every wall and ceiling in a 3000 sq ft house. With my bum knee, I wouldn't be able to do it. Just cutting in along the ceilings would be impossible. The fact that I HATE painting more than just about anything in life is also another reason. But if you think about the cost of paint being just over $1700, a $4000 labor cost isn't that bad. One painter bid $6200 for the job. Clearly, he wasn't that interested in the job. All the other painters were in the $3800-$4200 range.
