I have both and they are two completely different pistols. I have a thing for commie 9x18's and the CZ 82 can be considered a double stack Makarov. It holds 12 rounds but a completely different design (so it is NOT a Makarov). It can be carried but it is on the big side but with 12 rounds you will not feel undergunned. If you like the CZ82 look at the other blowback commie 9x18s.
The CZ52 is a totally different beast. Its a full sized pistol with a roller locking mechanism (like an H&K). Not the best design for carry but it is a flamethrower! Love the orange basketball sized muzzle flash at night. And the 7.62x25 round can penetrate anything!
