    Nice!
    I second that.
    Third that ! A beauty !
Thanks. It's pretty cherry. I'm not 100% sure if I want to shoot it, but I probably will.

I was looking at those recently.
I would be interested to know how it handles with each of the three loads.
I have a 357 in the similar frame type, and that thing has a serious recoil to it.
Not as enjoyable to shoot as my 686.
Would like to know how it may compare.

What "dash number is it"? Open the cylinder an stamped on the frame there should be a 629-3 or similar. I'm just wondering what's the number 629-_ on yours.

This only has the S/N and "GOV", no model or mod numbers. The crane has "112" stamped on it.

I've found out mini shells are scarce as hen's teeth! I looked them up on GB and they are $49 a box of 20 - wtf. My lgs had a box of slugs left and saved for me. I have an adapter on order from Amazon for my shockwave. Have heard good things about the adapter and 1 1/2 " shells. Going to get some buckshot next! 8 rounds in a shockwave sounds good to me

I took it to the club this morning and shot some 200 and 230 grain medium strength 45s (reloads) and some Estate SS Competition 1/2 oz, 7.5 shot 1200 fps 410s. First the gun feels good in my hands and the double action trigger is as good as any S&W I've shot. It pulls smooth and steady right to the break with no discernible hang at the break like my 637 and 649 have. The shotshells recoil and lift about as much as a good 357 round does in my 649 but that's not bad even for an oldie like me. The 45 rounds rounds felt really good, maybe a tad stronger than my Range Officer but still easy to control. I'm keeping it and may employ it for nightstand use. They give you a couple of 2 shot moon clips in the box so you can run a mixed load of 45 ACP and shot shell. The 410 pattern was about 16" at 15 ft with a nice distribution of pellets.
