Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
I've been putting drop in triggers in my last couple builds - just because. Found out on my first one why anti walk pins are needed ! Just bought this one to finish another build. A little apprehensive because of it being "no name" given. Seller said they are "special buys" from the manufacturer that they are selling far below going price because of no brand given. 3.0 lb "special order" trigger too, something new. Any guesses on what brand it is ? Hopefully I haven't been taken for a ride. $109 free shipping and anti walk pins included.

I've never seen that one, the body and hammer are not anything I recognize.
I do know who is selling them cheap, and their MAP excuse sounds suspect imo.
I know many manufacturers don't allow advertising pricing below their MAP, by there are ways around that, keeping them he brand name a secret is normally not one of them.
Hopefully you got a great deal and it works great.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
To be honest, I think it's just marketing. As the story goes, about two years ago Black Rain Ordnance supposedly refused an order, so the OEM started milling off their logo & selling discounted trigger packs. Red Barn Armory included the letters "BRO" in their inventory number which fueled the hype. Black Rain Ordnance made a video saying the triggers were not a genuine BRO product, & Rise Armament just puts their own logo on them now... for the record, the RA140 is probably the best $99 drop in trigger.
I was looking at some of the pics of the "below MAP pricing" triggers and the machining looks pretty scratchy, lots of chatter marks. If I worked for company XYZ and a supplier delivered those, I would return them too. Probably won't affect performance, but if I am paying someone & putting my name on it, I would want a certain level of finish. I am sure it's a fine trigger for $100, but I can't match up that body or hammer design with any other on the market.Last edited by itchinesu; April 18th, 2017 at 09:10 AM.

Maybe a soldier's initials ?
156 ?
Maybe 1st Battalion, 56th Infantry Regiment ?

That could be some cool research if you find the man that had that rifle.
