Just ordered a barrel blank from Lilja for my Mk13 Mod 2 project. 27" 30-caliber stainless steel in their tactical contour, with 4 grooves and a 1:10 twist rate. 12 weeks of lead time, and once I have the blank I'll be shipping both the barrel blank and my new Remington 700 in 300 Winchester Magnum to Alan Brown to be converted into the Mk13 Mod 2. And if I'm lucky, I'll have it back in my possession this time next year.

If you ever thought about a new chevy truck, there's some amazing incentives going on til the end of the month on some trim levels. Enough that it encouraged me to trade in my 2007 with 160k mi.

I went to look at a used 2014 LTZ with 40k mi. Found the frame was rusted to heck underneath. Then stopped in to browse new and found the LT all-star trim level selling new for just about the same price as the used one I first looked at.

I had no intention of buying new.... but all the incentives....couldn't resist.

In short... $11k off. And then another $500 for applying for the GM visa (which I'll never use)

$2k of that off money was for going thru GM financial. I'll make one payment and then refinance thru my credit union at a slightly lower rate. And my CU is running specials on car refinances with cash back, guaranteed lower rate, and 3 months of skipped payments.

Add in my trade-in.....and it's the first time I ever drove off a new car lot with about 50% equity in it already.

That's nice. The only problem is it doesn't say FORD.
