Default What do I have to do to be able to buy a suppressed weapon?

First off, I know jaybell did a sticky on this but I want something short and sweet. I want to buy a suppressed .22 to do some plinking at the range with. What do I have to do, step by step, to get it?

    etc.
    1. blah blah
    2. blah...

    Thanks.

    1. Find an NFA dealer
    2. Pay for the item
    3. Collect all the required documents, signatures, photos
    4. Send above documentation and a $200 check to the ATF
    5. Wait

Oh... if your dealer doesn't have the item in stock:

    1. Find an NFA dealer
    2. Pay for the item
    3. Wait for the item to be transferred to your dealer
    4. Wait for the item to be transferred to your dealer
    5. Wait for the item to be transferred to your dealer
    6. Collect all the required documents, signatures, photos
    7. Send above documentation and a $200 check to the ATF
    8. Wait
    9. Wait
    10. Wait
    11. Wait
    12. Wait
    13. Wait
    14. Pick up tax stamp and NFA item from your dealer
    15. Have fun

Dealer transfers are usually a bit quicker than the transfer to you, but not by much.

It's a long painful wait. But once you have it in your hand shooting you forget it.

So I buy the item first? Where in PA can I find someone who sells this stuff?

Do you have to pay $200.00 for each suppressor? Meaning that if you bought one for say a 22 & liked it so you order another for a 9 or 10 mm.
