Thumbs up Groom's Engagement Present??? I'm not complaining

I recently proposed to my girlfriend (she said yes). To my surprise, I was informed that it has become common for the bride to give the groom a gift to mark the important occasion. So, my question is: What would you ask for?

I have already mentioned a nice 1911 ($1,200 - $1,400 price point) and she seemed cool with that.

So there you have it, your choice of firearm with a price ceiling of about $1,400.

Don't usually like to be the first responder, but I will take a crack at it. The consensus seems to be the TRP from SA. I have shot a couple of these and they are fantastic, at any price. My hats off to SA. The Colt rail gun is a good option if you get one off of the new tooling. For a couple of bucks less, there is the MC Operator, the Colt GCT, and the Match trophy, as well. SA has a lifetime warranty and very good customer service. The factory magazines work like they are supposed to with this 1911, so you don't have to buy aftermarket mags for it. I have a SA that I don't talk about too much because, frankly, it does a better job than I could ever hope for, and I consider myself a decent shot. JMHO.

    Groom's Engagement Present???
How about a one way airline ticket to a place as far as possible from the wedding?

To my long experience, after awhile, even the sweetest woman will transform into an incredibly intolerant hostile miserable bitch.

Right now I'm trying to engineer a plan to get rid of wife number three.

Damn dude, you need to hit the range more. My wife is always more lovely after I have tortured the X's in a bunch of targets.

Thanks for the posts so far. Just to clarify, I am not set on a 1911 variant, just wanted to set an upper price point. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Also, thanks for the marriage advice.
