Default looking for precision rifle coureses, classes

are there any precision rifle courses or classes near pittsburgh?

i figure i am wasting more money by blowing ammo trying to diagnose my own technique than it would take to pay for a class.

The closest is just south of Norfolk Va. in Moyock, NC. at Academi.

    Training-courses/precision-rifle-1

They start a 8:00 am and most cases you're also doing night shooting to 8:30-9:00 pm. You train on a 1200 yard known distance range. P1, I think runs out to at least 500-600 yards and P2 I know you'll be shooting at 1000 yard line.

The other one I know about is at the Sig Academy in Epping, NH.

If your issue is technique (fundamentals) your cheapest bet is Project Appleseed. For $60 per weekend they teach sling-supported field shooting positions with the goal of consistent 4MOA groups out to 500 yards. If you need greater precision it's a good prep for the more expensive courses, or for competition shooting.

Classes are scheduled at Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in April, June, August, and October. McDonald Sportsmans Assn in May. Pitcairn-Monroeville in May and October. The schedule for Slippery Rock Sportsman's Club is TBD, but they usually start in May and have an Appleseed every month thru October.

    Define precision rifle

ie: to what range with what gear to what purpose

Imo if you want to get good at the fundamentals of precise ruffle from positions get in with the cmp crew at pmsc, if your specifically looking for long range 1000 yard shooting though you'll need more specific help.

currently, this is what i have:

    remington 5R, 308, 20", YHM can

i need to work more on recoil control, calling the shot, etc.

i have been going to the range to try and diagnose these things myself, but i am just wasting money and ammo.

goals and range: the goal is to poke small holes in the things from far away.
