Default First EBR narrowed to two choices

Narrowed my choices for an AR down to two. BCM M4 carbine mod 1, and the Smith and Wesson M&P15 base model (sku 811000). Essentially the same rifle / features from what I can tell. This will be a plinking rifle / possible three gun use if I ever get into that, and future homestead defense tool for the inevitable Cranberry sheeple riots of 2013.

Figure I could go cheaper, but since I'm likely to only ever buy one of these and keep it forever I might as well just get a good one and be done with it.

Now to source one at a fair price...

Go with the BCM if the price is the same. Buy once, cry once.

Colt would be my first choice as you can buy a new 6920 around 1k now, my second choice would be a bcm....an M&P would not be in my sights.

Either of those would be great rifles.

No Spikes? You've seen the new M4 spreadsheet yes?

    "cranberry sheeple riots"... love it.

Found the spreadsheet: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?...=5&output=html but it looks like they did away with listing particular brands and features and left the feature descriptions. Which were informative... but I'd have liked to see their MFG list.

Of those two choices, I'd go with the Bravo Company.

I give the edge to bravo company. But the M&P is just fine.

If it were within $75 I'd take the BCM. If not, oh well. You'll likely never notice.
