Default Closest "tactical " handgunning course.

In preparation for concealed and open carry I want to get some training to become proficient with my weapon so I wont become a casualty when I pull my sidearm out too late. Where can I find tactical styled courses,ya know with cover and rooms and stuff .

In western PA Beaver and Monroeville have Training often and some IDPA/USPSA I think. (just Noticed where you are located)

Go to IDPA website and look for clubs near you that have it.

ALso check out the training courses section on this forum to see if anyting is near you.

    This weekend

In state those are the ones I would recomend personally.

and no..... hes not looking for an IDPA match. A match isnt the place you go to learn how to fight with your gun. Dont get me wrong, I shoot a lot of gun games, but 1. they are games 2. no one there is instructing 3. Even if they where a couple hours and 100 rounds of ammo is not near the experiance of 16 hours and hands on direction and teaching form a experianced and qualified professional instructor.

to be clear, your not there yet. You need the prerequisit courses before you get into a shoot house.

We have a class coming up soon that should fit nicely with what you are seeking.

That's what I was going to say. I haven't heard anything about the quality of the classes, but there's a new-ish place right near you offering "tactical" classes. Direct Action Tactical has some items listed in the "classes offered" section of the forum I think.
