Where to find an SR1911 in Central PA
I've called about every gun shop that I know of in the area and no one has any or even knows when they are going to be able to get more. Anyone know of any central Pa shops where there's one? Thanks

Three on gunbroker right now. Since you've already tried your LGSs and all. One of the tards doesn't have pictures, which is complete fail... don't even think of buying from them. Here is one example: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=247886763
It has to start someplace... It has to start sometime...

I don't think you'll find many gun shops that just have them sitting around. Most (if not all) are bought on "special order" and are out the door as fast as they come in. (this of course will change in time)

I'm not sure who told me this, but I remember hearing Gander Mountain has had them in for a while...

Re: Where to find an SR1911 in Central PA
I like Gander Mountain for certain items, and they always have a nice selection of shot guns at decent prices....but their handgun pricing? INSANE. I've seen a few pistols going for twice what I know them to be at local gun shops. They are trying to take advantage of Joe Blow idiot consumer who doesn't know what things cost and wants a "gun" NOW.
The Ruger SR1911 looks nice, no doubt about. HOWEVER, I wouldn't rush right out and buy a first run of ANYTHING until they get bugs worked out.
I will admit to having a Colt Gold Cup 1911 and a PARA LTC 1911 in 9mm already, so my itch is already scratched......
The new stainless Colt Gold Cup's I've seen for an even $1000.00, down at Hake's in Wrightsville. Why pay $800.00 or more for a Ruger when you can get the original? I'd save up more and get the original. Just me.

I was just in Pierce's Outdoor shop in Lewistown. They have a used one sitting there. Can't imagine it'll be there long, though. Think that's what it was, I was looking for something else and wasn't looking closely at the 1911's. Now that I think about it, it may have been a Remington, though.....
