Did they order it directly from Sig? What ever distributor they use has gotten me gun orders in the week they said it would take. Twice.

Tanner's is direct with Sig.

My 229 stainless elite was ordered from Sig after it was said that they were available...it took five months. After the first 3 months of waiting I called and was told they were just going into production.

I think I see your problem here. You were thinking in "real" time, while Sig operates in "Sig time".

When they say a model is to be introduced in the spring, in real time that is around November.

With models already in production, one week of real time equals five weeks of Sig time.

As much as this BS drives me crazy, with Sigs I generally find it worth the wait. One last thing - I'm 100% certain that what Tanner's told you was simply a reiteration of what Sig told them - so when it comes to laying blame, make sure you don't misplace it.

I've got a few of each - stamped slide Sigs and milled slide Sigs.

I'll take the stamped slide Sigs any day of the week.

Are you sure they weren't talking months? I ordered a centerfire conversion kit for a 229 in 9mm... finally canceled the order when I saw a 40 S&W kit for sale on-line... that was 7 months after my order. Local dealer, ordered direct from sig.
