I like to think that men prefer a woman with brains to one with just cleavage. Sadly, I'm certain this is not the case.

From what I understand, the .7 is derived from health issues. All species naturally prefer a healthy mate, to better procreate. Wide hips are a good sign of fertility, and a relatively thin waist is indicative of good health. Men are genetically hardwired to search for these two traits. It so happens the balance of hips and waist that most often indicate these traits is .7.

Yep, because of the above. Of course, it's healthy when you have wide hips, but most supermodels don't, so that .7 (or .8 which is becoming more common) is unhealthy.

hip ratio for these 8 models ranges from .62 to .73

average is .70

throw out the real low ratio (.62) and the average is .715 waist to hip
ratio

Slim waist is fine. I remember one occasion that it really turned me on. But it's not mandatory.
