CC
Did you review my earlier link on PO carry ? (http://www.thegunzone.com/rkba/rtc-usps.html )
I also believe concealed carry is allowed at airports but not beyond the security checkpoint.
There was also a post regarding carry in a courthouse building (some rural Pa county I think) that allowed CCW in the building but not in the actual courtroom.
It would take me some time to research these.

i'm not sure but I suspect it is a federal facility ( Bettis plant in West Mifflin).
Everytime my boss tells me to go work there he tells me to sanitize myself and my cartruck . I'm going there tomorrow so I'll feel naked again.
The guard with the M16 strapped to his/her chest always asks if there are firearms in the vehicle.

Don't think I saw this reading thru - Packing-dot-org has seemingly gotten a bit behind on updates.
Gary Slider who used to co-run that site has got another going - which he is trying real hard to keep very current -

Re: Places we can't conceal-carry in PA
I have read a lot of "stuff" about Post Office carry and, while I agree with you on most points, I'm afraid if a postal worker sees your gun in the Post Office, you will be in for a court battle. Personally, while I would love to see the question resolved by case law, I'm not willing to be the test case.
With all due respect, if you are so very confident in your interpretation of the law, perhaps you will volunteer to be the test case. Just open carry into your local Post Office, making sure you are seen by postal workers, and let us know how you make out.

Re: Places we can't conceal-carry in PA
Regarding any museums or places that have metal detectors, ask to speak to head of security. I went to Constitution Center (which I do not believe is a National or State Park) in Philly. I know that on occasion they have metal detectors so before we went I set up a meeting with the head of security. Turns out that day they didnt have metal detectors, but I talked with her anyway. She asked to see my permit and asked where my weapon was located. I gave her both pieces of info, we exchanged some pleasantries and she hoped my wife and I "enjoyed our visit."
No hairy eyeball, no overt attention.
Now, the WEIRD thing is that I think Independence Hall is a national park and the block surrounding it is as well. So even if you are walking down the street next to the building, does that mean you have to cross the road if you have a CCW? That one's a little weird.

State parks say:
Posessing an "uncased device" . . . . is prohibited.
Is a holster a case?

Not sure if it's a law, but you're not allowed to carry in the Social Security office - at least the one in Charleroi. Friend of mine is an armed guard there.
