Default Need to take some new shooters to a range...

I'm taking my wife and a neighbor to show them the basics of pistol shooting (no, I am not a trainer of any type, I just want them to become familiar with it, especially the wife).

I'm not a member at any ranges as of yet, and shooting at SPAG (my local) is going to be expensive, since there are 3 of us using my ammo, so that's $75 just for the range fee. I haven't been to many other local ranges myself, so I don't know what their policies are on ranges fees (per person/group/hour) or ammo policies might be.

Any thoughts on a more cost-effective solution?

Pistol People charges (charged) $10 per hour per person for general public. He will ask if everybody has shot before - if you tell him no, those who haven't ever fired a gun will need to sit with him for about 20-30 minutes while shows you the basics of a gun. He's gruff, but a good guy, concerned about safety. Weekends are busy, might wanna call ahead first.

If you haven't gone already, I'm a VIP member at SPAG and it's usually more cost-effective to shoot with me at SPAG. You just need to pay for 1 box of ammo and guest fee ($5) per person at SPAG and whatever you shoot that I bring in. Wednesdays ladies don't have to pay guest fee.

I've taught many new shooters for free, including several members here and will be happy to teach your neighbor and wife. I usually teach with 3 types of handguns and a couple of long guns to give a new shooter a comprehensive feel for firearms.

    Try Delaware Valley Sports Center.

    $20 per person all day.
