Re: What is the best overall 9mm pistol?
HK USP Elite. Remember, you said overall.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

East German or Russian Makarov or CZ82 if you like bigger.

Re: What is the best overall 9mm pistol?
There are so many 9mm pistols out there. It would be impossible to answer question. The first question to ask (which would narrow your search) is; What: size, capacity, use, price range? Asking this question is like asking what is the best over all nail you can buy?

ETA I didn't see the poll/list. Of the list I'd have to just about all of them make reliable guns. My choice however would be HKLast edited by sid; August 19th, 2011 at 11:47 AM.

I have to put in a vote for my Sig P6. It's like a good beer, smooth and never fails to put a me in a good mood after being emptied a few times.

Re: What is the best overall 9mm pistol?
As sid indicated, the question is so broad it is impossible to answer. Much will depend on your personal preferences and what you want from the gun.
Although I do not know from first hand experience, I have heard and read great things about HK and Sig and that is not just 9mm but all of their products. I know Glock to be very reliable even when abused. Personally I find them kind of cluncky and sort of ugly but they do perform no matter what.
I am sort of an old school guy and don't really buy new pistols anymore. I prefer steel and leather to polymer and kydex. I own 2 Browning H.P.'s and have never had a single malfunction, FF feed/fire ever. The gun accepts any type of ammo I feed it. I like the 13 round magazine although by today's high capacity standards 13 rounds seems small. I love the simplicity of the design especially for field stripping and cleaning. To me the Browning HP is a classic that will always be around.

Re: What is the best overall 9mm pistol?
Hmm no votes yet for Glock, that's surprising, where are all of you G17 & 19 fans at? Usually Glock runs away with these polls...
