Colt Python or SA Range officer
Hey everyone, would like to hear some weigh in on which you think might be a better buy. I DO Realize it's about my own personal preference and what I feel I will enjoy better. Either of these would be just for the range no carry. Both are new(range never fired new in box, Cold hardly fired Blued). What might be a better buy and better investment. I've been looking for a .45 and know the RA is a great gun, have yet to fire it though but herd allot of good reviews. I have fired the Cold once and loved it, been looking for one ever since. I also am considering the cost of ammo for either of these, and that the Cold could fire .357 or .38...Let me know what you guys things, and I'll edit this as need after reading what you guys have to say. Thanks allot for your help.
I think I've settled on the python, my question now is would it be worth it to get a pre strike(86) vrs a post? Would one be more valuable then the other? The one I'm looking at is a post minty with box papers and org grip, for a fair market price, thoughts on price range lowest to highest?Last edited by jrock1537; August 16th, 2011 at 04:18 PM. Re: Colt Python or SA Range officer
I have been a long time fan of the Colt Python. The show the Walking Dead has only cemented my desire to get one for my collection.

I would pick the Python. If you don't mind spending that kind of cash and you can find one for sale, you should too.

Re: Colt Python or SA Range officer
Pythons certainly aren't going to go down much in value anytime soon.
That being said, you can buy a middle of the road Springfield 1911 just about anywhere anytime. The opportunity to buy a (fairly priced) Python? Doesn't exactly happen every day.
That is, if the Colt is fairly priced.Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here

Python!
They aren't being made anymore. 1911's are everywhere, and they will continue to make them even 6 days after the earth has been swallowed by the sun.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

I agree with the posts so far. Buy the snake. Wish I had a Python.

Get the Python. Springers will always be available whenever you save the scratch to get one too.

/I bought my brother one of the first 500 Range Officer's for Christmas. Damn nice pistol, exceptional fit and finish. I've owned three Springfield 1911's myself, it was the nicest I've ever seen.Last edited by ForwardAssist; August 14th, 2011 at 10:31 AM.
"X is what percentage of Y?" Divide the first number by the second, multiply the answer by 100. Add a percent sign. Think.
