    Default Carry Belt Advice

    Hey Everyone,

I use a standard department store belt to carry. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for more heavy duty belts...both tactical belts and belts of a more clandestine nature (for example, if I needed to dress in a suit...I wouldn't want to wear a nylon tactical belt).

I just want to hear about anyone elses' experiences with belts.

    Thanks!

    I wear a 5.11 Opearator Belt
    http://www.511tactical.com/All-Produ...1-34-Wide.html

It may not be the best belt in the world, but it's a really good belt. It's much better than a standard department store belt. Especially when carrying a loaded firearm. It supports the weight much better, doesn't bent or crease, it makes carrying inside and outside the waistband much, much more comfortable. Carrying a Firearm with a run-of-the-mill belt risks failure of the belt. I've actually had a belt buckle break on a standard belt due to the strain of a firearm.

The 5.11 Operator's belt is the only gun belt I've ever owned. Had it for a couple years now without any major problems or complaints. Though it's wider than most belts, it doesn't fit in very small belt loops.

Try one of these. I bought a Bullhide belt back in April.. this thing is very well made and will last forever.

or try this one. The Beltman also gets great reviews on here as well as other forums.

    I have a 1.5" Gould & Goodrich dress belt.

Very supportive and is fashionable with anything from jeans to dress pants.

You can get it in 1.25" and in brown in both sizes.

    Belts should match your shoes.

5-11 Trainer ($30) with jeans other not-so-dressy attire.

Beltman when something more "presentable" and clandestine is called for. Pricey ($75), but it will outlast several department store belts.

They will do anything you want and make anything you need. I had one custom made that, to quote the owner, "Looks like it was run over by a truck." It was perfect when I got it, and worth every penny.

I spent just under $100 on it, and it by far is the best money I ever spent on gun stuff. I wear it all day everyday and as a heavy truck mechanic, it get rubbed, snagged and caught on all kinds of stuff all day long. So far it shows no signs of wear. It has "taken shape" to me and how I wear it, but with a 4" XD 40 on it, it doesnt flop at all.

Spend the money, its well worth it!!

I got a Crossbreed belt when I got my super tuck. It is the best money I have ever spent on a gun item. I will never go back to those thin belts
