If you desire a hicap 9 mm with large grips. Look at a Sig P226 with the Hogue wrap around grips with the finger grooves. The grip on that is massive and very comfortable. I have smaller hands but it was my first gun so I'm very used to those grips and shoot very well with it.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

I feel that many of us have been swept up at one time or another and purchased a gun that we probably would not have had we waited, done more research, held, etc. I recently, bought a 44 mag revolver so that I can feel safe hiking in the chance that I run into a bear. I probably should've just saved the hundreds of dollars and bought bear spray instead and got a gun that I would actually use. Not to mention that I hardly ever hike anymore, and I’ve never crossed paths with a bear in my life.

My advice to the OP is if you don’t like the way the gun feels, find something you do like. People trade guns all the time for that same exact reason.
I would rather die in a shootout than get assassinated in a "gun free zone"

A true single stack 1911 has a skinny grip. Glocks are known for their fatter grip.

Absolutely not! I've had the opportunity to shoot all three and I bought a 1911, and a Beretta 92 will be along in the next month or so. I also felt as though my grip was much more stable and comfortable on the 1911 and 92. I would describe my hand as having a large palm with long skinny fingers. (if that helps at all?)

If you weren't way the hell over there in Eastie land you could come try one of the two 92fs or various 1911s we have. Seriously though has to be someone in your area from the board that would let you put a mag or two down some different 9mms.

You could get a 1911 in 9mm... Rock Island Tactical should be under $500 out the door and they're great guns! lol

No you are not nuts, if it does not fit your hands or you don't like the feeling find something that you do like. For people with fairly big hands the 92sf is a good fit it does fit and feel natural. I personally really like the 92/96 series. I also like and own Px4 and Cougar. But I also like the feel of the Sig except the frame feels too high in my hand. With Houge grippers I like the feel of Glock 19 & 23, I don't require grippers withe Glock 21sf.

And like most people I find the feel of the 1911 comfortable and natural.

If some guns just don't feel like they match you, find one that does its all part of the pistol trading, i usually try them before I buy them.

    ^ This.

No question. Unless the gun most comfortable to you has reliability problems. It's always better to go with what fits you best. Hand guns are a pretty personal thing.

The 92 was my choice when I was fitting for a 9mm (and I handled a lot of them) but the Browning Hi-Power was an extremely close second place (and I'll get one someday) and sometimes when I handle Hi-Powers today I wonder if I made the right choice lol...but I do love the 92.
