Default Feels like finger is being pinched when I pull trigger

When firing my Glock 26 or XD 40, it feels like the bottom of the tip of my trigger finger is being pinched. Why? What am I doing wrong? It doesn't happen if I dry fire it.

I get the same thing firing my Glock 32 in 357 SIG. I think it's the sharp recoil making my finger hit the trigger guard below the trigger. These rounds have a lot of "snap' and I really don't know of a way to avoid it.

Hmmm, that sounds like that would be it. Maybe I can move my finger up a bit.

Make sure your grip is as high on the gun as possible. The webbing of your hand should be as close to the slide as possible.

It was happening with my Glock 23 and then I put the Pearce Grips on which just adds a little more onto the magazine so I can get a better grip. This reduced my felt recoil and stopped the finger pinch as well.

It MAY be possible that you are not following through with your trigger "pull", leaving just enough space between your finger and the trigger for the recoil/reset to sting your finger. Try this: after each shot, keep the trigger depressed rearward, count to 1, then let it reset.

Also, check your gripping technique. Poor grip allows for recoil to move/snap the gun in your hand instead of moving your arm.

When I got my HK P30, I put the "high" backstrap on because it felt good. At the range, I noticed that my finger was getting pinched by the trigger. When I studied my grip, I saw that my trigger finger was pointing slightly downward instead of pointing straight forward. I put the lower backstrap on & it solved the problem.

Not sure if that's the case here, but look at your grip.

Good advice all. I notice it happens most when I rapid fire. I'll concentrate on my grip more the next time I'm shooting and see if that helps.

Same thing happens to me when I shoot my Keltec P3AT I tend to agree that its from the snappy recoil and in my case a small trigger guard and sausage fingers. I run through 2 boxes and my finger fells like it was shut in the truck door!
